CAST ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT
The casting committee truly appreciates the auditioning actors, the Comedia Musica Board and the volunteers that assisted during the casting process. Every attempt to match role and voice range requirements were exhaustive and very difficult for the committee to finalize - compounded by the sheer volume of talented people trying out! It is a collective weighted opinion of who best fits a certain character given other characters that must mesh together in a complex and befitted way. The talent level of those who auditioned was amazing. It's going to be a great show. Thank you so much for joining the journey.

6/2/16:
MARY POPPINS YOUTH CAST
First of all, we want to sincerely all the parents who brought their child to auditions this week and for having an interest in our production of “Mary Poppins.” Every child had something unique to bring to auditions, whether it was their speaking abilities, singing abilities, dance skills, a wonderful smile or an amazing attitude; all of the kids were unique in some way and that made it difficult for the directors to choose which children would participate in our production.
However, after deliberation among the three members of the casting committee, we have determined our youth cast, including Jane and Michael Banks. Due to the amount of talent shown at auditions, the parts of Jane and Michael will be double cast. The actors portraying Jane and Michael will perform their specific roles for two of the four performances and will appear as ensemble characters for the other two performances.
And now, for the cast list...
Jane Banks: Anna Kolacia and Maggie Lennon
Michael Banks: Adrian Donchev and Aaron Amhof
(Jane/Michael pairings and performance dates as Jane/Michael TBD)
Youth Ensemble (Toys, Park-goers - specific roles TBD):
Elle Clark
Faith Shirbroun
Alexa McHone
Cayci Bidlema
Jillian Leman
Lucy Porter
Darylinn Cook
Mackenzie McIlrath
Maddie Reynoso
Arthur Lund
As a “thank you” to those who auditioned, Comedia will be sending a voucher for one complimentary ticket to every child who auditioned to be in the musical. You will be receiving these to the address you indicated on your audition forms shortly before tickets go on sale to the public.
For those who were not cast, but have a passion to be on stage, remember that Stage Door productions will be holding auditions on June 13 and 14 for their K-6th grade summer production of "Honk! Jr". And everyone gets to be involved in the show! Check out their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/#!/stagedoorfd/ for details.
To the cast members, we will begin rehearsals in late August. Our typical rehearsal schedule includes Mondays (choreography), Tuesdays (music) and Thursdays (blocking) between the hours of 6-8:30pm. Jane and Michael will be required at most rehearsals. Ensemble children will be scheduled for specific rehearsals as needed. More information will be emailed to you as we get closer to August.
Once again, we thank everyone who auditioned. You were all amazing and should be very proud for putting yourself out there!!

GOMEZ ADDAMS: A man of Spanish descent who takes great pride in his family and revels in all it means to be an “Addams.” He struggles with having to keep his daughter’s secret from his wife, whom he adores more than death. Smart, comedic actor with tenor vocals.
MORTICIA ADDAMS: Attractive, leggy, the strength of the family. An easy comedic actress with a sexy, dry wit. Feels her husband is hiding something from her and will use any tactic to lure the secret out. A strong dancer/mover with alto/mezzo soprano vocals.
UNCLE FESTER: The androgynous family member who serves as the musical’s narrator. He is larger than life, an energetic, joyous, child-like presence. A vaudeville style comedian with tenor vocals.
WEDNESDAY ADDAMS: Daughter of Gomez and Morticia, now a young woman, who has the same dry wit and sensibility of her mother. Finds love with a “normal” boy (Lucas) and wants to introduce his family to hers. Experiences the youthful drama that comes with first love. Strong pop belt vocals.

MAL BEINEKE: Stuffy father of 19 year old Lucas and exasperated husband to his rhyming wife, Alice. At one time was a follower of The Grateful Dead but has lost that side of himself. Always looking out for his family. Male actor with high baritone/ tenor vocals.
AICE BEINEKE: Mother of 19 year old Lucas, devoted to her family so she puts aside her own desires. Quirky female who often speaks in rhyme. While at the Addams Family dinner party, she drinks a potion that causes her to let her hair down and speak her truth. Comedic actress with soprano / belt vocals.
LUCAS BEINEKE: Attractive young man. Fell in love with Wednesday Addams and plans to marry her. Experiences the youthful pain and drama of young love and struggles with the differences between his family and the Addams family. Contemporary pop tenor vocals.
CHORUS / THE ANCESTORS: Male and female ensemble singers/dancers who are smart performers. Sing and have a fun, quirky sensibility.
*You are not required to audition if only interested in becoming a member of the Chorus, but it is highly encouraged. Many times solo lines in musical numbers are given to those who audition.

YOUTH AUDITION RESULTS
Youth auditions for Comedia Musica Players’ upcoming production of “ANNIE” were held on May 29 & 31, 2014.
Adult auditions will take place on August 19 & 20 at 6:00pm at Grace Lutheran Church (211 S. 9th St., Fort Dodge, IA). Check back here for further details!
Below is a letter from the Casting Committee announcing the ORPHAN CAST:
Wow!! Can you believe over 70 young ladies stepped up and put aside their nerves and auditioned for Comedia Musica Players' production of “Annie?!” We want to first thank all of those who auditioned this past week and for expressing your interest in “Annie.” All the girls had something unique to bring to auditions, whether it was acting abilities, singing abilities, dance skills, a wonderful smile or an amazing attitude; each was unique in some way and that made it difficult for the directors to choose.
We were completely blown away by not only the number of girls, but also the abilities, and we had a huge job in front of us! However, after deliberation among the members of the casting committee, we have determined our cast of “orphans,” including Annie. Please remember that every part is double cast and while all orphans will be on stage for every performance, they will only play their specific “role” at certain performances.
And now, for the cast list:
Annie: Alaina Porter and Maggie Lennon
July: Hallie Ehn and Chloe Vinchattle
Duffy: Brianna Luke and Alexandra Tiernan
Pepper: Mckinsey Roberts and Claire Asay
Kate: Lucy Porter and Darylinn Cook
Molly: Mina DeJong and Jillian Leman
Tessie: Maddie Reynoso and Anna Kolacia
Orphan chorus member: Mya McClain
As a “thank you” to those who auditioned, Comedia will be sending one complimentary ticket to every girl who auditioned. These will be mailed out within the next couple of months.
To the cast: Congratulations! We will begin rehearsing in August, which will include vocal preparation, line/blocking preparation and a week of dance rehearsals to get a kick-start in learning the choreography. All of this information will be emailed to you as we get closer to August.
For those who did not make it into the cast, but have a passion to be on stage, remember that Hawkeye Community Theatre will be holding auditions in October for all children for their December show “The Nutcracker.”
Once again, we thank everyone who auditioned. You were all amazing!!
Sincerely,
Buzz Powers
